It’s only the end of April and already a lot of gamers are hearing the call of duty (pun very intended). All we have to do is survive the wait till this November and we’ll finally get to experience the sequel to the original Black Ops game from Treyarch! There are still a lot of mysteries regarding the new game, but here is a quick overview of what we know to date.
The game is actually going to be called “Black Ops II” (with the Roman numeral), not “Eclipse” as some people speculated. The reason for the “Eclipse” marketing on posters is that the day the game is slated for release, November 13th, is also the date for a total eclipse of the sun. The name of the game has been confirmed a couple of times now. First we saw it on Target’s pre-order cards, and now we’ve seen it on a logo which was leaked to the gaming magazine Gaming Everything. The logo features the image of a soldier along with the title “Call of Duty Black Ops II.”
Aside from that, what we have is mostly a lot of speculation. Will the next Black Ops game take place immediately following the end of the previous game? Or will Black Ops II take place sometime in the near future? What new perks, unlocks, and game modes will we see in multiplayer? Will the game really include an Escort mode? Will we really be able to use four knives at once? And, most importantly, are the zombies coming back?
These are the questions, and we will hopefully have a few of the answers in just a couple of days. On May 1st the official Black Ops II reveal is going to air on TNT during the basketball playoffs. So tune in for answers to all of your Black Ops questions!
